An overseas buyer can clear a Worldwide Brands Distributors order in one of two ways: their own customs broker files the import entry, or they use our VAT and customs clearance service and we arrange it. The choice is the buyer’s. Both routes work from the same export paperwork, and in both the duty and tax are confirmed at clearance in the destination country, never quoted by us in advance.
Key facts
- The clearance route is your decision: your own customs broker, or our VAT and customs clearance service.
- For every export consignment we issue the commercial invoice, packing list, HS codes and a country-of-origin statement.
- Door-to-door delivery by air is available, quoted from the consignment’s volume, weight and dimensions of the goods.
- We never quote duty or tax rates; they are confirmed at clearance in your country.
- Each product’s minimum quantity appears on its page, and no order under $5,000 in value is processed.
- Goods leave our US stock 5 to 7 business days after your payment clears.
What customs clearance involves
A commercial shipment entering another country is declared to that country’s customs. The declaration states what the goods are, what they are worth and where they were made, and the importing country assesses duty and import taxes against it. Goods are described with a Harmonized System (HS) code, an international classification that each country extends in its own tariff. The same carton can be treated differently in different markets, so be wary of any supplier who quotes you a rate.
Who may file the entry, and which registrations an importer needs, differ by country. Confirm the specifics with a licensed customs broker or compliance adviser before you order.
Route one: your own customs broker
You name a broker, and the broker files the entry using the documents we issue. This suits buyers whose broker already knows their port and product type.
We give the product detail a broker uses to classify the goods. If you work with a forwarder, nominate them and we will hand your goods to their US warehouse when you instruct us.
Route two: our VAT and customs clearance service
If you would rather not manage the entry yourself, you can choose our VAT and customs clearance service and we arrange clearance for the shipment, working from the same commercial invoice and packing list. Ask what the service covers for your destination before ordering, and give us the destination and quantity so we can tell you plainly whether the routing makes sense for the size of the order.
Door-to-door delivery by air
For buyers who want the goods carried from our stock to their address, door-to-door delivery by air is available. It is quoted per consignment on volume, weight and size. Sea freight is the other common mode for pallets and larger loads; our page on container and LCL orders covers how that works.
Fragrance, aerosols and lithium cells are regulated for air transport, and carriers generally treat alcohol-based perfume as dangerous goods. We declare such items properly, and if air freight is not practical for them we tell you and ship by sea. Check the rules for your destination with your carrier.
Before a first import
- Ask your adviser which registrations your country requires before the goods ship.
- Agree who carries each leg and each cost. The EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP guide explains how Incoterms split freight, risk and import duty.
What we do not do
We do not quote duty or tax rates; for tax or legal questions, ask your broker or adviser. The stock we ship is US-market product in its original manufacturer packaging, and we do not relabel or repackage it for a destination market, so any label your country requires is added on your side after import. We promise no transit time; freight time after despatch depends on the mode and route you choose.
How to order with either route
- Choose your products. the case minimum for each product appears on its page, and the order must reach $5,000 in total; see how the minimum order works. We do not process orders under $5,000, retail quantities or trial orders.
- Send the destination, the mode (air, LCL or container) and the clearance route you have chosen.
- Tell us what your broker or import authority needs, so we can confirm the documents before you pay.
- Pay by local ACH bank transfer (United States) or international SWIFT wire transfer (everywhere else). We do not accept card payments; pay by local ACH bank transfer (United States) or international SWIFT wire transfer (everywhere else).
- We despatch three to five business days after your payment clears and send tracking once the goods ship.
- On arrival, count cartons against the packing list and report any damage or shortage to us at once, with photos, while a carrier claim is still possible.
An online order at a product’s published case minimum ships for the flat rate quoted at checkout. Larger quantities and customized orders are quoted by weight, as set out in the shipping policy. Whether the order is sealed Pokemon TCG by the case or a mixed pallet, the clearance choices above are the same.
